The revision of history education (content and goals) took place intensively in the years 1990-1996 under the leadership of prof. dr. Peter Vodopivec, especially in terms of updating content, greater attractiveness and openness. In January 1996, the Professional Council of the Republic of Slovenia for Education approved a renewed curriculum for grammar schools, and in the 1996/97 school year it began to be introduced in the first year. Therefore, the present curriculum retains in its content the concept adopted by the expert council in 1996, and is supplemented by a catalog of operational objectives, which express on the one hand the orientations of history teaching, and on the other a certain standardization
